Audio hardware forums (consumer electronics)?

I'm starting my marketing research to find out best receivers for small $$. And I was trying to find some sites (without success) with forums on this and similar topics...
[I look for something like headwise forums for headphones, but for other audio equipment].

I was trying to read something on audioreview.com but it seems that the last time they've added a new piece of equipment was 2001 and most models you can see in stores are actually not there. (also no point in that site, since everyone only claims that their piece of equipment is best  ). Seems like when someone buys a shitty speaker and listens for 1 sec, runs to Audioreview.com to give it 5star rating

My idea is that now I got some money to chance my AltecLansing ASC-495 speakers with a cheap (but possibly not very bad) stereo setup. For speakers I still plan to go with Paradigm 'Titans' unless I find someting in the same price range that sounds better. (Here Titans cost 276$ CDN - 200$ USD) [I can go with 250$ if speakers will sound better  ]
My endian is bigger than yours.
