how would i go about binding the play, stop, next, and forward multimedia keys to foobar2000 and make them global?

i too do have a logitech keyboard and hotkeys bound to the keys you mentioned.

disable multimedia-key-support in the foobar options (yes, thats right, disable it)

then go to the hotkeys dialog, choose a command, then click on the field to enter a keystroke.
Now the tricky part:

press the key to which you want the command to be bound. the field will remain empty - IGNORE THIS. Just go on as if fb2k recognized the keystroke corrently: check "global hotkey" and then click "add".

leave the options and try the hotkey - voila!

EDIT: someone else who also has a logitech keyboard told me, that it also works for him if he keeps multimedia-keyboard-support enabled. It didn't work on my pc *shrugs* Seems like there isn't a sure bet how to do it - just try both versions and choose the one which works for you.
I am arrogant and I can afford it because I deliver.

My Logitech didn't work with iTouch, so I had to do the same thing Lyx did.  I've also heard about it working for someone with iTouch, though.

Disable multimedia keyboard support, attempt to bind the keys as global shortcuts.

This worked great, and far better than the advice to "use Girder" in a previous thread on this topic. That seemed like ridiculous overkill, to install an elaborate program meant for remote control devices, and requiring a lot of programming, just to get four or six keyboard buttons working!

You may have to shut off the Logitech browser software in the system startup (using "msconfig")
