.mp3 file has playback trouble.

I have two files that have problems with the mp3. Not sure if it's a bad file or a mp3 header problem or what.

Is there any programs that can scan for anything wrong with the file and strip or correct the parts in question?

I am using foobar2000 as my player. I've tried "Fixing mp3 headers" and trying to playback, but it says:

"ERROR (CORE) : error opening file for playback"

Any ideas?

Thanks!

A first idea would be to post in the foobar2000 forum.  Another idea, would be to say what version of the program you're using.  Another idea would be to search the forum for 'mp3 error' or something of the sort.  Maybe checking if the file is read-only, if it has the filesize of a regular mp3, etc.

Generally, a bad stream is fscked, but you can try mp3val ( [a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=41786]http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=41786[/url] )

Whoops.

0.8.3 foobar.

Well, I believe this applies more to a general forum than foobar since it has not much bearing on foobar but the program I'm using to open the files.

I tried a search, but it wasn't much help. Maybe I didn't refine it as well.

I tried http://www.willwap.co.uk/Programs/vbrfix.php and it fixed the files, but it messed the bitrate a bit. Don't know. I'll give that MP3val a shot though.

Thanks

You could also try mpTrim, which can do all sorts of good stuff:
