Fraunhofer fastenc

i'm very confuse about these ..
what is a difference about ......
( Fraunhofer fastenc ) and ( Fraunhofer ACM or procedure pro ) ?
who is the best ?    FhG fastenc  OR  FhG ACM or procedure pro

fastenc was a command line utility.
ACM was a Windows Codec, used in MP3 Producer Pro.

I *believe* ACM/Producer Pro is higher quality.

I still use Fraunhofer occasionally, mostly for 48KHz wave sources (I dunno if it's any better than Lame, but I do know Lame isn't any good for that).

I use Fraunhofer for low bitrates encodings. (112kbps-)

Umm, fastenc is not just used in the certain command line utility.

FhG Fastenc is used e.g. with Sound Forge when using the "fastest" -setting, or with MusicMatch Jukebox when using the "normal" -setting.
In certain fastenc implementations there's the infamous stereo collapsing bug.

There are several FhG codec generations:
*l3enc
*ACM/Producer Pro/Radium hack
*MP3enc
*Alternative
*Fastenc

If you download the latest MusicMatch Jukebox or Sound Forge and use slow/hq settings, the codec used is Alternative.
Alternative codec is also based on MP3Enc 3.1.1.

What you should use is very subjective. You may get different recommendations depending on a person. I'd probably use alternative hq for lower bitrate encodings.

FastEnc is the latest mp3 encoding library from FhG. It's used in many products, and is superior to the very old ACM implementation.

The confusion comes from the fact that there is a command-line encoder called FastEnc.exe which is using the FastEnc library.
