Best Way To Copy Mixed Mode Or Cd-extra ?

Hi all :
Just a quick question if I could. We all know that eac is the king for ripping audio cd's, and there are a number of solutions for copying other software. My question is, what is the best way to copy cd-extra? If I use eac it will only copy the audio part, and the copy i made with clone cd added .02 of a second pre gaps to all the audio tracks that are not present on the original. Besides I'm assuming Clone is using some kind of burst copy scheme anyway. Any suggestions?

thanks!
I\'d rather be forgotten, then to be remembered for giving in

I have duplicated Audio CDs on Clone CD and never noticed an damage to crossfaded/non-gapped tracks. The CD times and reads identical to the original.

Are you saying you are getting 2 seconds (2000 milliseconds) gaps or 0.02 second (20 milliseconds) gaps? The latter would suggest a single dropped audio frame by your burner.

For CD-Extra or multisession CD, Rip the audio with EAC, copy the data on the hard disc, burn the audio as CD audio (SAO, or "don't close CD", or "prepare next session"...), then burn the data as a new CD ROM, but on the audio CD instead of another blank.

For best results, burn the data session in Mode 2, and don't forget to finalize.

I've been curious about this as well.  Should the Audio be burned with EAC, or our standard CD-burner?  From Pio2001's reply, it looks like I should use some other software.

What if your CD has the data track first?  (e.g., Sarah McLachlan's "The Freedom Sessions")

The burning software has no importance. But I'd rather use something else than EAC, since multisession need a correct lead out, and EAC is said to mess it up (it doesn't affect audio playback).

If the data is before the audio, you must ask for a mixed mode CD in Nero, or other programs. EAC can't burn mixed mode CDs.
But if I were in your shoes, I'd change the mixed mode original into a multisession copy, it's much better. The data can't be read as audio this way.
