Windows Vorbis Comment editor w/ custom field support?

Hello everyone,

I have literally spent months searching for a Windows programme, with or without a simple-to-use GUI, which supports editing Vorbis Comments in FLAC files, and supports adding any custom fields.

I'm very sorry if I have missed anything obvious but it wouldn't be the first time.

For basic tagging, Tag&Rename is serving me very good, but it lacks the option of adding custom fields. The programme that I am looking for should not only be able to add custom fields, but more than one instance of each field (for example, several genres) as is encouraged in the Vorbis Comment standard.

Thanks a million for any help!

They are both very good, but none of them do any sort of custom tag fields, which I find quite remarkable.

Have you tried foobar2000? It supports custom fields and multiple instances per field.

I can not speak to mp3tag and specifically Flac files, but I would be quite surprised if you can not add custom Vorbis comments.
Load tracks, right click, extended fields, add field. Foobar also should do as what you want.

I will be completely honest and admit that I have had no first-hand experience with Mp3tag, since it for no apparent reason refuses to work on my computer. However, in tag scanner, there is no 'add field' option under Extended information.

As a matter of fact, I have not! Thank you very much for the tip! I shall try this.

However, I am still interested in a stand-alone programme that can do this more swiftly!

Is there an 'add field' option in Mp3tag?

Yes it has an add field options as noted above. Possibly I was vague as I was referring to fact that my use of mp3tag has been with mp3 files and not Flac. Functionality should be the same. They also have an extensive forum for assistance.

Edit:

There is no reason to believe a standalone program will handle your needs better or more swiftly than foobar2000.
