After some magic which involved pasting "foo_customdb.dll" into the search box on top of this site, and then clicking the first link, this is what i got: http://blog.99ravens.net/index.php?e=283

I'm being moved around a lot today.  I will learn.

Does this mean that foo_customdb is not accepted as a plug-in by foobar2000.org ??

I saw a post on another forum (not fb2k) that foo_customdb.dll could be used to put marks on tracks within an album that would say: I like this one a lot, or I don't like that one.

What's good for this?  I am just starting out in computer-based music.  I have ripped about 100 CDs with EAC.  I can see the value in setting prefernce marks.

It means that the component's author is Asian and doesn't speak enough English (or just doesn't care enough) to attempt to post here.

That's correct.
With foo_customdb you can add every custom field to a database instead of the tags of a file.

But for this purpose you could also use the official foo_playcount and use its rating system (its written to a database only by default, too).

I see.
I got confused by your use of the word preference and thought of it as setting Foobar program preferences.  Ctrl + P.

If you are simply looking to be able to rate your like / dislike of a track...there are many ways to do so in Foobar.

One would be the playback statistics component which also provides rating.

Edit: as mentioned above.

It seems that Playback Statistics 2.1.9 (foo_playcount.dll) is the winner !!

Thanks.  You have all been very helpful, with this and my earlier ASIO question.

I would like to try this skin on my foobar and love the Last.fm integration this skin offers. There's only one problem, the plugin foo_customdb is not available at the included URL this script says in it's pdf file inside the archive. Where do I find the plugin?

You can try searching Google for a mirror of the file. If the site that hosted the component went down, or was changed, there's not much we can do for you.
