Foobar Fails To Tag MP3 Fails

I use foobar to retag files on a regular basis, as the multi-properties and masstager features are more then enough for my needs.

Lately, It stopped tagging MP3 files succesfully. No matter which file is being used, even if its not being played and nothing else is using that file, the tagging fails (the properties dialog gets the 'Error Updating File(s)' string) and the file remains unchanged.
The only indication i recieve is the console message:

"WARNING (CORE): Verboten !"

A few times, over and over on each tag attempt.

Im using the special installer for v0.8.3 , with the ID3v2 component installed.

Any clue as to whats wrong ?

See Preferences > Database > Block tag update operations.

The database is currently disabled for me (i can never get it to update on a regular basis for some reason), so im not sure if thats the cause..

Unless this option is active even if the database isnt in use ?
Ill try it anyhow, thanks in advance, foosion

EDIT: Yup, that does the trick. Maybe you should add a short description of what it does. Something along the lines of "Block Tag Updates (Disables Updating Of Tags Regardless Of Database Status)" .

Thanks again, foosion.

See 0.9 for a better solution to present this option. You'll find it (along with a more verbose label) on the "Tag writing" preferences page.

Oh, Right. I remember looking around the first beta version.,
Though im not using the beta versions right now since im a sucker for GUI in a certain way (album art, track info, other ColumnsUI panels).

I'll look forward to 0.9 anyhow. Thanks for the replys, foosion
