HL-DT-ST -CD-RW GCE -8080N

My CD Rom device is as follows:

Device [1,0,0] [D:] HL-DT-ST -CD-RW GCE -8080N

I know its on the D:\drive, what is the brand?
Any other useful information?

System is a Dell (purchased Dirt cheap) from my work off its lease when I received my new Dell desktop.

My LG drive identifies itself as HL-DT-ST, so I guess it's an LG.

I guess it's an OEM drive and that is why it doesn't identifies itself as LG.

Non.

"HL DT ST" stands for Hitachi-LG DaTa STorage.

It's a joint venture between Hitachi and LG working on digital optical storage

Oh, I see. I assumed it had something to do with OEM drives as all retail drives I bought identify themselves as LG... while the drives which came bundled with PCs have the HL... string.

My CD-RW drive is retail and it has HL-DT-ST in the ID string.

My DVD-rom drive (retail too) has LG in the id, but it's a patched firmware and I can't remember if it had another string before.
