Why not? At low bitrates it is supposed to be better than M/S stereo?

You should know you are only one. "I" want intensity stereo so I am making it.

And you are several people? Heh. Get over yourself. The fact that you work on LAME doesn't mean you're special. And working on intensity stereo encoding sounds like a huge waste of time that could be better spent elsewhere to me, what could possibly be the point? Why would anyone actually care about making 32Kbps encodes?

I would say it does. Why should anyone put his effort into something that is of no or little use to oneself?

Besides he was just disproving the statement "nobody  wants intensity stereo though", where one counterexample is enough.

Low bitrates are the least competitive area of MP3 compared to modern codecs. And they are still important for streaming, previews, ...

intensity stereo is more interesting for the 64-112 kbps range, not 32 kbps.

Shorty, you said "nobody wants intensity stereo" and you are wrong as proven by Takehiro's and several other peoples interest.

the vast majority of people find intensity stereo completely uninteresting and a complete waste of time. happy? heh. same freakin' thing I said before. Intensity stereo butchers, plain and simple. You know it. I know it. Jerkahiro knows it, but is bored and wants something to do, and doesn't feel like doing real work, and so is busying himself with something easy and pointless. Nobody's gonna care about it, cuz nobody's gonna use it, so it'll keep himbusy for a while with no ill effects. *shrug* Sounds lazy to me.

trolling my ass, it's a valid opinion shared by pretty much everyone, and you know it. Intensity stereo is a waste of time.
