Convert APE to MP3

Converting other formats to MP3 is no problem for me. When I convert my APE file it gives error. However, I placed a foo_input_monkey.dll in my components folder, and after that I get no errors when converting. The problem is that I want to get one MP3 for every song inside the APE file. Is this possible? Do they usually come in one APE file for a whole album?

Also, I found this, but when downloading I realize that it is not a usual dll component... It's named "Monkey.fb2k-component"... What do I do with that? Also, I don't even know if this will help my problem.

All components on the site are supposed to be archives, which you simply open and let the player install on its own.

Oh I see, so it's the CUE that contains all the info... So I drag the CUE into foobar and everything is looking good. But when I start to convert it gives error unfortunately.

How do I do that? Settings/Components/Install won't let me see the Monkey.fb2k-component when browsing. So I'm supposed to open it first? In that case, how? It's not like it's a ZIP or RAR...

perhaps older versions of foobar are expecting the files to be named foo_something.fb2k-component?? i'm using 1.3.8 and *.fb2k-component is acceptable.

so upgrade foobar, rename the file or drag it from explorer on to the components dialog.

I tried downloading the newest version, but it still fails to convert. This is what it looks like when inside the Preferences. And this is the error I get when trying to convert a track. Notice how it tries to convert the CUE instead of the APE itself...

So, any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Are you yourself able to convert an APE to multiple MP3's? Maybe it's just possible to make one big MP3...

Does the cue sheet play if you double click a song item from it? Maybe the ape file isn't correctly referenced in the cuesheet. You'd have to do that with some text editor.

Here's what it looks like. The playing song is the APE, and it plays. And the other separate songs below comes from the CUE, but them I cannot play, since foobar tries to play the CUE-file.

Well, there you go. You need to open the cuefile in a text editor and change the path to the ape file accordingly there.

Oh, thanks! The CUE looked like this for some reason:

REM COMMENT "ExactAudioCopy v0.99pb4"
PERFORMER "Lush"
TITLE "Spooky"
FILE "CDImage.wav" WAVE

As soon as I changed "wav" to "ape" it worked. Thanks for the help!
