Encoding higher channel configuration in AAC

Hi experts,
In AAC specification ISO/IEC 14496-3(2009), channel configuration for AAC-LD in er_raw_data_block() is given upto 7, which corresponds to 7.1 configuration. Higher configuration is given as reserved in the specification. So how to encode a stream of configuration higher  than 7.1 given that AAC can encode up to a maximum of 48 channels. Is there any new specification for this?
