Always highlighting current playing track

Hi all,

I've been very pleased with my current Foobar setup 0.9.5.6 on Vista. However, I can't get the NG Playlist always highlight the current playing track. When I click on a song the line gets highlighted (see example). After the song Foobar plays the next one, without the highlight skipping to the next. How can I make this possible? Any suggestions? Basicly I always want the current playing track highlighted.

Thanks, Ralph

Playback>Cursor follows playback.

This should be a sticky or something. (It's a common problem.)

It's already in the FAQ because it's indeed a frequently asked question:

But no one bothers to link these people to the FAQ, so thus it goes.

And how can I keep it selected (differently) while I'm selecting another?

Why "current playing" mark is the same than the Item Selected?
We should 've 2 marks, currently playing and, the active (selected).

That sucks

That's what the "Playing" column is for.

Also instead of putting it in the FAQ, maybe it should be enabled by default along with "always send new files to playlist:".

Nah. changing the selection on track change is a sort of a potential data-loss situation. It should remain the way it is, self-inflicted. (although, for the same reason, I agree with you about "always send...")

There can be TWO "current" playlist entries. I call the entry that is selected with the mouse or arrow keys the cursor selection. That is the entry that context menu operations or their shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl-X or Alt-Enter) apply to. The other is the entry that is currently playing OR THAT WILL PLAY, if the "Play" button is pressed. That other entry is independent of the cursor selection; it continues to be the next to play when playback is stopped and another entry is selected with the cursor. I wish to highlight that second entry differently from the first, even when it isn't playing. I can use $if(%isplaying%...) to highlight that entry while it is playing, but I wish to see which entry WILL play if I press the "Play" button. How do I do that? Thanks.
