Playing Audio CD's fails, MP3 and FLAC are oke

Hello, I installed the latest version of Foobar: Foobar 2000 0.7.7a Special.

I can play my MP3's and my FLAC's without any problems. But for some reason it will not play my audio cd's. I've read some on the other topics but couln't figure it out myself properly. Is there anything else I have to install? I read something about an ASPI layer. I've got some already for some programs on my computer: wnaspi32.dll (for EAC), wnaspi64.dll, wnaspixp.dll. Those I could find.
So what exactly do I have to do to get my audio cd's being played in Foobar?

Did you choose to install the CDDA component from your Special install? Does foobar2k output some kind of error? Does CD playback work from other programs?

I had this problem on my computer at work (win2k) with 0.7.7b, so I checked it on my home computer (win98se), and that also had problems reading from CDs. So I pulled out a copy of the freeDB CDDA plugin, which solved the problem. I also found installing 0.7.7b over my previous version with the freeDB CDDA plugin also solved the problem.

Copy wnaspi32.dll into your foobar2000 directory. Or maybe into the foobar2000/Components folder.
If that does not work you have to install Adaptec ASPI Layer!

I tried the wnaspi.dll file copying thing. Doesn't work on my computer at work. Foobar isn't even recognising the fact theres a drive there, eg when I go into the Components>CD Services>Play Audio CD thing, there isn't any CD drive to select.

I'll have a word with our IT department later (mentioning the Adaptec thing you mentioned earlier), but is anyone else aware of any problems (inherent or admin-enabled) with foobar2k on Win2k not being able to recognise cd/dvd drives ?

Does the accout you are using have administrator privileges?

If it doesn't you'll need to enable cd-rom access for local users only (see here for the details).
