Forgot to say, it happens to me as well, this radio (http://radio-locator.com/info/KTAR-FM) recently changed their streaming server and it started to happen, 4-5-6 mins then it stops with an error, not sure it's a foobar2000 problem though.

http://radio-locator.com/info/KTAR-FM stops on my foobar 1.3.8 also after a few minutes. It must be a server issue as I listen to dozens of AAC/mp3 radio streams on fb2k without problems.

I have dozens of radio streams as well and they are all fine on foobar2000 but the new KTAR is fine on MPC-HC.

*Just pressed play after the error and it's lasting longer now. **10 mins, no errors.

I have some problems with a few radio-streams too. foobar2000 just tells me this:
File verification error: MPEG stream error at 224076 bytes
"http://lyd.nrk.no/nrk_radio_alltid_nyheter_mp3_h"

For all streams from "lyd.nrk.no" I get an File verification error. I tried MPC-HC, and it streams it just fine.
I did send an e-mail to NRK, they said there was nothing wrong with their streams.

Other streams work just fine, without errors.
I streamed shoutcast.unitedradio.it:1213/;stream.mp3 for about 2 hrs and it played just fine.

"File verification error" sounds like you have the advanced option to verify integrity of playing content enabled. You really do not want that.

Other than that, in 1.3.9 beta 5, reliability of internet AAC stream handling has been improved; while I could not verify the problem with KTAR-FM locally, foobar2000 should no longer stop playing when encountering errors in AAC stream.

I have now disabled "verify integrity of played...", but foobar2000 only tells me the following in the console:

With mp3-stream I get the following:
Opening track for playback: "http://lyd.nrk.no/nrk_radio_alltid_nyheter_mp3_h"
MPEG stream error at 16066 bytes
MPEG stream resync successful at 16306
MPEG stream error at 29554 bytes
MPEG stream resync successful at 29555

With the aac-stream I get the following:
Opening track for playback: "http://lyd.nrk.no/nrk_radio_alltid_nyheter_aac_h"
error decoding AAC frame #47: Unsupported format or corrupted file
Decoding failure at 0:00.981 (Unsupported format or corrupted file):

Here are a list over the streams that "always" fail: http://lyd.nrk.no/

But, when I listen to this stream, in Firefox, everything is fine; https://radio.nrk.no/direkte/alltid_nyheter

Sorry for the long post.

Please clarify.

Are you now using foobar2000 v1.3.9 beta 5 ? It addresses decoding-stops-on-AAC-decode-error scenario with internet radios.

I'm sorry that I did not specify in my previous post.

It was "enable dynamic track titles", that caused problems for me, both in v1.3.8 and 1.3.9 beta 5.

It has not caused problems for me in the past, so my guess it that the host of the stream might have changed something on their end(?)

Thanks Peter

For me, for what I tested yet, beta 4 gave an error the first time then after pressing play again everything was fine, beta 5 seems always fine, not even the first stop.

Thanks for the reply, this is most interesting.

If you're behind some kind of a proxy server, "dynamic track titles" feature might not function correctly and give symptoms exactly like what you're getting - the server is sending us metadata in mid-stream but the HTTP reply header saying so got lost and foobar2000 does not know that it's getting metadata chunks in the middle of the stream, so the decoder gets upset seeing data that does not actually belong in the audio stream.

Thanks for confirming.
