How to restore playback statistics, by matching up statistics to tags?

Hi,
I search a bit but did not found the answer.

Story:
I had a laptop, the laptop had a HDD, HDD crashed baaaadly and I lost allmost all my music. Luckily I had very fresh backups of all my applications as well as some a bit stale backup of the music library (give or take 6 months -- not much changes there). The problem and the catch - I cannot drop-in database.dat on that library because  I've changed the structure of the library about 3 months ago as well renamed/improved tags on the whole library. OK, I have more-or-less about 75% of the stats matched, but the rest is missing (or outdated, I had sync to tags as well).

The idea is to find out to what artist/title/album foobar tries to match the data to correct this data in files and then have a perfect match and current statistic. Is it possible somehow?

tl;dr -- how to browse/retrieve data from database.dat?

I was trying to play with the file and I'm starting to have a weird sensation that the actual matching is based on the hash from artist+albumt+title -- could anyone from the dev-team confirm this?

Actually it turns out that I don't want data from database.dat - I want information from index-data/{GUID}... so once again - is is possible to retrieve artist/album of the matched information? I stumbled against "export library to xml" but still - it has only TrackID (thus I still think there is slim chance of getting the information I need, yet I need to ask)
