With the Techno and Trance music I encode, there are quite a few samples where -V 2 isn't transparent. I'm not either sure about -V 5, on some samples it produces really weak results for me. (for my portable player, I use Fastenc 128k from Easymp3, besides the 16k lowpass it is really good).
