Well, I thought that the formatting strings thread was not the right place to post about the site so here's a thread for it.

Currently updating the site (yes, I know I told I wouldn't update this week, just did not feel like studying ): adding the ability to define your own fields so that you can enter OSD strings, albums list strings, sorting string or what ever you feel like.

To achieve this, the database structure had to be fully changed. All the existing styles will stay, of course, but their numerical ID's will change. This means that links that used to point directly to a style (like, http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/fb2k/strings.php?f=1) will now point to a wrong style, if pointing to any style at all. I hope this is not a big problem.

I decided quite a time for the upgrade -- the server itself is currently being upgraded, too. The server updating seems to be taking some time, so I won't be able to finish the site update until, umm, something like 18 hours from now. Even if the server recovers before that, the site will be unavailable (yes, I *did* start the changes, just 15 minutes too early ).

great news

the changed id is a minor hassle IMHO - could be much more worse than this. So, no problem about that here.

Ok, the site is now back online. Took a bit longer, needed to fix quite a many things in order to make it work with the new server. Mail sending seems not to be working yet so I've temporarily disabled all the forms that rely on it, including the new account creation.

Most of the changes are already described above. Made the IDs stay the same so no problems should occur with that, either.

I had to replace a lot of code so bugs may of course be found -- report them on this thread, PM or directly by mail. Thanks.

works great here - the ability to add own fields is nice.

I haven't encountered major bugs, but here's a suggestion - i think when viewing a style, it would look more readable and clear if "cell-spacing" would be higher.

The account creation and other e-mail based thingies are back.. yes, took quite a time
