[TROLLING] From: Directsound vs WASAPI vs ASIO

@devhead:

Don't be discouraged by your unnecessarily rude welcome to hydrogenaudio. Unfortunately, the forum has a reputation for rudeness, and the people with poor manners often justify their behavior by claiming violations of the Terms Of Service, which you should nevertheless read as soon as possible.

You'll find people on the JRiver forum, where the rules are less strict, who've had the same experience that you have. And here at HA, apparently Peter Pawlowski thinks there is a difference between DS and WASAPI, since he took considerable time and trouble to write WASAPI output code for foobar2000.

Notwithstanding your subjective definition of “rudeness” – because too many people expect to be lullabised through life and thus interpret short, to-the-point messages as being “rude”… If people don’t take the time to read the rules, which are advertised prominently during the process of registration, and then proceed to violate them, I don’t expect anyone to apologise for not wasting their time on having a pointless debate about imaginary effects for a thousandth time. They have better things to do.

Have some of them also been abducted by UFOs, too? Since when is ‘someone said it somewhere on the internet’ evidence of truthfulness – rather than, y’know, a high probability of being total BS. We have rules mandating objective testing so that we don’t devolve into an echo chamber of evidence-free woo like so many other places online.

I read this and couldn’t stop repeating “bullshit” for about a minute. Peter wrote the plugin for the actual, real, not imagined advantages of WASAPI: exclusive control of the output device, guaranteed bit-perfect streaming due to bypassing mixers inherent in new versions of Windows, low latency, and so on. For you to imply that the owner of foobar2000 and a primary administrator of this site believes the same subjective nonsense as you, to make yourself look justified, is an extremely low thing to do.

Take some time to seriously reconsider your approach to this site.
