Getting ID3 Tags

Here is what happened.. i let my Ex-Best Friend talk me into downloading MediaMonkey. He talked about how wonderful it is and what all it can do.
So.. i installed it and let it find my MP3 Folder. (i have all my favorite songs in one folder 2,800 so far).. Anyway.. So i got out of that mess and went back to the BEST!!
i got into Foobar2000.. and ALL of the ID3 tags were gone. ALL of them. So.. my question is.. is there some way of automating retrieving the ID3 tags and having them written to the MP3s?
Or will i have to go through each one at a time? That would take up some time.!!!
Thanks for giving me a minute of your time, David, ThunderBoyDavid

If you have albums, you could try foo_discogs.

But to be honest, "automating retrieving" sounds like you want it to try and find tags for you based on...filename? Some sort of audio fingerprint? Not possible.

Perhaps not exactly what your looking for but if there's a certain consistency within your file naming you can get that into your tags using %path% and %filename% with properties/automatically add values.
