EAC—almost any UI function= freeze+error “EAC.exe has stopped working”

Hi I have downloaded the latest version of EAC

However each time i need to browse  for something (in the program interface) or use a function  slightly out of the norm it freezes and says EAC.exe has stopped working and has an error message

Im running windows 7 64 bit

is this a known problem? is there a patch or something?

it does it when i tried to browse to find an external encoder
it does it when i choose copy image > compressed

and i am sure it will do it for many more things if i used more functions...

I believe EAC is only available as a 32-bit application, so make sure you are not trying to use 64-bit encoders.

64 bit Win7 here, using EAC + 64 bit lame.exe -> no problem.

Means what?
