Vocal sounds of all music files are always very weak when playing in f

Hi all,

Recently I bought a new PC running Windows 7 ultimate.
I have downloaded foobar for Windows 7.
When I played a music track in the foobar (in WAVE format), I found that the vocal sounds were always very weak,
but the instrument sounds were strong enough to make me deaf.
I am not sure if there are some settings I can do in foobar to solve this problem, or is it a bug of Windows 7.
Please help if you could.

Thank you.

Does this only happen in foobar2000? Did you test other players, too? Try it in Windows Media Player or Winamp.

Did you download the installer from the official website? There are tons of sites out there which bundle known broken components along with a preconfigured foobar2000 installation.
It's only audiophile if it's inconvenient.

Sounds like you are playing back in a surround sound mode , maybe Dolby ProLogic II Movie or something like it, and only have the front left and right speakers working. The vocals will be coming from the non existent centre channel speaker. Somewhere in your sound device or AV Receiver (if you're using one) you need to switch it to stereo.
