Looking for the magazine article

I've read something within the last month or so which I stupidly didn't bookmark. It probably came from here, but a search hasn't turned it up.

It's an article written for a UK(?) tech magazine in the 1980s(?) that dispels some of the myths of subjective audio magazines. IIRC it goes through some common "audiophile" myths and debunks them. It goes through the history of subjective reviewing, starting in the 1970s, showing how it's become so popular. It also explains which measurements are useful, and why they do tell the whole story. It criticises hi-fi magazines for letting manufacturers and reviewers talk such cr*p for so many years!

Does anyone know the article I'm talking about. It's on-line, on the author's homepage (IIRC!) - if you did bookmark it, or know which thread/forum/website it's on, please provide a link!

Cheers,
David.

Science and subjectivism in audio, Interesting link (thread by KikeG). Perhaps this is what you're looking for?

In the last twenty years, there has developed a major dislocation between the scientific evaluation of audio equipment and "subjective" assessment, the latter philosophy having come to be called "Subjectivism"....

This is an expanded version of an article that appeared in the UK journal Wireless World for July 1988.
