Hello!

Here is the link to an aif file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3k4imrx51nla0f/s...-sniff_120b.aif (530 kb).
This file can be successfully opened in Ableton Live, but not in any available audio-editors (say, Audacity or Ocenaudio) nor in iTunes.

What is this aif format? Is there a tool to identify these air files and convert them to a 'standard' aifs?

Thank you!

I believe it's an 'Ableton' specific compressed aifc file only recognised by Ableton. If you want to use it elsewhere, you'll need to export it from Ableton as a standard aiff, or wave file.

Ableton??? biggrin.gif

I believe Ableton can render to WAV, AIFF, MP3, etc.

Yes, that's it:

aiff files that belong to certain add-on products (e.g. EIC, Session Drums, Drum Machines, etc.) are encrypted and can't be opened in any other software.

Thank you for help!
