Hello everyone,

Several of my flac files (along with cue sheet in a separate file) have their file names in an order which i wish to change so that i can have uniformity among all the .flac files. And i even wish to edit the Flac tags in foobar so that the files are abundant with metadata.

Q1.) Will this action of mine have any impact on these accurately ripped files? i.e will it make the files in accurate?(this may sound stupid but getting things cleared beforehand is better than repenting later)

Q2.) Now that the file metadate have changed including the file names should i change the original .cue sheet to make it compatible with the new files? If yes then how and what all changes?

Q3.) then again there is the log file _a proof of accurate rip results_ is it necessary to change even this especially the file names.

Q4.) Does foobar2000 and mp3tag tag editing have the same effects on the final file? And of these 2 which one is better in terms of reliability?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Renaming files doesn't change the accuracy of the rip.

Retagging files doesn't change the accuracy of the rip.

Cuetools will modify the cue sheet to reflect the changed file names.

Editing the log file makes no material difference.

foobar2000 and MP3Tag both do the same thing if you configure them in the same way. There may be some obscure tasks that one achieves but the other can't, but for mainstream renaming and retagging there is no material difference. However, IIRC foobar2000 defaults to ID3v2.4 tags, which aren't universally read, so you may want to manually set it to ID3v2.3.

Pick the cue sheet and select "Correct Filenames", then "Go"

This has not been true since v1.1.6.

Sorry about that. One of the downfalls of foobar2000 releases being so reliable and well tested, and of automatic updating being so easy, is that you get out of the habit of checking release notes... I just update automatically these days, and that change completely passed me by. smile.gif

I did as you had told. Cuetools > Correct filenames. It's good and it worked, However i think i only reflects to changes in the filenames and not on the flac tags. i.e if you have changed the individual tracks metadata that won't be seen in the cue sheet. Is there any way to do so.
Now i did the changes using the correct filenames option and it corrected the filenames and extensions, but when i tried playing that in foobar2000 i got this error
"Unable to open item for playback (Error parsing cuesheet: invalid index list (line 55)):
"E:\...\Pocahontas\Pocahontas Soundtrack.flac.cue"" Here's the new cue sheet generated by cuetools. Please let me know the problem.
