adding tags without modify mpc files

hi everybody,
i use fb2k 0.62a and i've got a small collection of mpc songs...
before start burning them to cds i'd want to apply to each song a sort of tag related to the rating...

i try to explain me better:
if the song is good i'd want to add the tag RATING with the value 1;
if the song isn't so good i just apply anything;

the problem is that i may consider a song "good" now and dislike it tomorrow. so i don't want to write this kind of data directly to mpc files, but in a unique file (for ex. a playlist).
i heard it's possible using foobar's database, but i don't know how...

can anyone give me an advice?

thanks very much...

Foobar->Preferences->Database->"Don't write modified tags to files"

Turn that on, and then any data you add to tags will only be added to the database.
