new to foobar, and 1 problem

there's 2 parts to this
1st, im pretty new to Foobar, i was hoping someone could suggest or link me to how to decently set up this program, maybe a walkthrough or something
im just having problems finding a beginners guide, something that can inform me about good DSP's to have active and basically a good overall setup

2nd, im having this problem when i have kernel streaming on
i have a game theater xp, and whenever i try playing an mp3 with the headphones plugged into the xp, then i get an error message and the song wont play
INFO (CORE) : startup time: 80 ms
INFO (CORE) : opening file for playback : [Song path...]
ERROR (foo_out_ks) : KS output error: error opening device.
the songs work fine when there is nothing plugged into the headphone jack

thanks for any help!

Question 2: disable Kernel streaming.  Question 1: there is no walkthrough.  The default settings should be just fine.  Failing that, try the plugins one at a time to see how they work.  And, last but not least, use the search function of this board for specific problems.  Happy Trails.
