I just bought a new AV receiver (Onkyo TX-NR525) and would love to be able to play my Foobar playlists on my stereo. It talks about Windows Media Player in the manual but I don't like it much.

It has an ethernet connection .. and I was able to connect it to my pc and shared a folder (windows 8.1) .. but honestly it was just crappy.

Can I output my Foobar to my receiver over the network ?

This is what it says ...

The AV receiver can play digital music files stored on
a computer or media server and supports the
following technologies:
Windows Media Player 11
Windows Media Player 12
DLNA-certified media server
The computer or media server must be on the same
network as the AV receiver.
Up to 20,000 folders can be displayed, and folders
may be nested up to 16 levels deep.
Note
Depending on the media server, the AV receiver may not
recognize it, or may not be able to play its music files.
■Remote playback
Windows Media Player 12
DLNA-certified (within DLNA Interoperability
Guidelines version 1.5) media server or controller
device.

Did you try the UPnP MediaRenderer Output component? http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_upnp

Yes .. just tried it and it is awesome. It works just fine. I won't have to load a usb stick anymore.

Thanks
