Hello Tritsana.

My server is online again, so you can go there and download (The address is at the bottom of the message)

Best plugin for Winamp is surely in_faad, by Menno Bakker. It decodes AAC almost as fast as MP3 (comparing to mpg123)

You can get it at the faadplug.zip file, available at my page too.

Hello
can anybody help me in getting  a good quality MPEG 2 AAC Encoder and Decoder (floating point free code).

Also what are the typical test audio streams for testing the quality as well as functionality of the AAC Encoder:confused:
thanks alot

Go to www.audiocoding.com
Faad2 is as good as it gets regarding AAC decoding. Stable and ultra-fast.
You should wait some weeks for the encoder. Menno will start to work soon on Faac2.

These are AAC test streams made by AT&T:
http://www.research.att.com/projects/mpegaudio/mpeg2.html

If you want to test the encoder with problem samples, get the samples from ff123's page and Lame's samples page.

Thanks rjamorim
from the link u mentioned i had got test streams for the AAC decoder. Thanks a lot

But is there any specific audio/music files testing of which conforms the total quality of AAC Encoder implemetatiion.
I mean some audio files which covers all possibilty of audio information such that if i test with them and any likely problem with my AAC Encoder which the outputs are going to figure out.

The audio files which covers all the extrimities.

And one more help i need from u
currently i am going for fixed point imlementation of AAC Encoder
i don't have any good quality AAC reference code.If i start with FAAC code can i use the FAAC2 code for quality enhancement without much changes in code
thanks alot

You might want to try files used to tune LAME MP3 encoder:

http://www.mp3dev.org/mp3/gpsycho/quality.html

Some of the hardest files were encoded with good AAC encoder:

I'd suggest porting decoder to the fixed point, first  The demand for the fixed-point decoder is quite high...

In any case you should contact Menno from Audiocoding.com to get more details.

Yes, contact Menno, he is working on a fixed decoder, or at least he is planning one based on Faad2.

How the hell did you discover that?

Anyway, you can safely ignore it. Lots and lots of things will change in the next few days (weeks?)
-surprise!-

I saw on the OpenBeOS site that that .tk addresses are free to register and thought that your address is pretty impossible to remember, so you should need one. But you already had it..
