I would like to be able to have a specified number of random songs selected for me and added to a playlist. This would be useful for my portable music devices in which I do not have enough space to hold my entire library on. For example, I would like to be able to have 300 random songs in a playlist that I can then copy to my phone. I would also like to be able to set a filter for the music that is able to be selected by the "lottery."

Is this feature possible in foobar2000?

Try the 'Random Pools' component.

That is impressive. And it works very fast, too. Thank you for pointing me in that direction.
