Mpeg2 layer1 encoding

Hi

I need to encode Mpeg2 layer 1 encoding from wave files.
Basically i need to encode a 22.050 khz wave file which is a dual channel into Mpeg-2 layer 1 audio in dual channel mode.
Can anyone please tell me any encoder that can do "Mpeg-2 Layer1" audio encoding or in other words that can do above thing.

No,I mean Mpeg-2 Layer1 encoding,which means layer1 encoding for lower sampling frequencies of 16khz,22.05khz,24khz.Hence it is called "Mpeg-2 layer 1 encoding"
Note: Mpeg1 Layer1 encoding is mpeg audio layer1 encoding for sampling frequencies of 32khz,44.1khz,48khz
Hence Mpeg2 layer1 encoding is mpeg audio layer1 encoding for sampling frequencies of 16khz,22.05khz,24khz

Besweet,lame,2lame,pub_enc.exe(mpeg audio encoder),'pixel tools mpeg audio encoder' dont do mpeg-2 layer 1 encoding .
2lame of besweet will do Mpeg2 Layer 2 but not Mpeg2 Layer1
Can anyone please tell me any encoder that can do "Mpeg-2 Layer1" audio encoding or in other words that can do above thing.

unless i'm just crazy, twolame should work at 16/22.05/24 samplerates with MPEG-2, although i've not heard of 'mpeg 2 layer 1' and only 'mpeg 2 layer 2' for those samplerates...

why don't you try twolame... it is probably what you want.

I've only heard of MPEG-1 Layer 1, 2 and 3, and the MPEG-2 and MPEG-2.5 extensions for Layer III.

Layer I was used for Digital Compact Cassette. Does anyone remember this? 

But I really wonder what application should need Layer I at 22.5 KHz

Uzura is a Layer I encoder. (Uzura3 is a Layer III encoder)

hI PEOPLE...
I downloaded Uzura1 for layer1 encoding,i encoded a 22.05 khz wave file using uzura1,but uzura1 encodes it as a Mpeg1 Layer1 file,what i need is a mpeg2 layer1 encoder.
Mpeg2 layer1 encoding is mpeg audio layer1 encoding for sampling frequencies of 16khz,22.05khz,24khz.
Even when u should open the output file in hexedit the headers have to properly indicate it as a mpeg2 layer 1 encoding.Once the headers show the correct the info u would know that it is properly encoded at Mpeg2 layer1
2lame as suggested by some ,and which i have already tried, does mpeg2 layer2 encoding and not mpeg2 layer1 encoding.

Perhaps dist10 could do it.

Btw, why do you need an mpeg2 Layer I encoder?

I think it's fairly safe to say that there is no readily available encoder that will encode Mpeg2 Layer 1. May be the question that should be asked is why you think you need to encode in that particular format?

I have tried to make sense of this...

Mpeg 1 has the 3  known audio layers, but mpeg 2 doesn't really talk about layers, it does mention support for mpeg 1 layers with halved sampling rates (lsf); among lpcm, ac3, dts and aac.

So strictly speaking if you want layer 1 you mean the 384kbps one and when you say "mpeg 2" this could mean with half sampling rate. I know toolame supports layer 2 with lsf, but never needed to encode a layer 1 file, let alone one with lsf.

Aside from DCC, what else uses layer 1? And layer 1 at half samplerate?!?

In short, i don't think there is any mpeg2 layerN at all.

But, personally, I still fail to understand the reason for wanting to attempt to use it when there are many other tried and tested options.

rJPa uses the Xing tompg encoder

Well, I had problems with some software producing _any_ output, probably from using it incorrectly or crashing, could be that they would produce something usable.

As probably none of these softwares did any quality optimisations to dist10 I guess SCMPX is simply the best and most usable choice.

Hi guys

I did try SCMPX,it seems to be doing Mpeg2 layer1,but it encodes in only stereo and joint stereo mode..But specifically the really needy kind of encoder is one encoder which can give me dual channel encoding for Mpeg2 layer1.
The reason why i am looking for mpeg2 layer1 is to test our mpeg audio decoder for all these types of files as i do know that such files exist...i need to encode the wave file (22.025khz/Lower sampling freq) in Mpeg2 layer1 in Dual channel mode particularly...i repeat in Dual channel mode importantly..
Can u any one please let me of any encoder that can do Mpeg2 layer1 encoding for dual channel mode.
