loi --> hydrogenaud.io  nice url naming tweak ;D

My thx to all those who keep Foobar2000 and the forums working ;^_^;

Foobar2000 is the BEST audio Player on the WHOLE Planet.

1)  Cool and unique name  "Foobar2000"
2)  Cool icons/logo
3)  Light weight and efficient programing ( Thx Peter ;;^_^;;) (ie NOT bloatware like some apps whose names I will not mention  )
4)  The plugin system, especially all the VideoGameMusic plugins I love so much ;;^_^;;  ( TY so much Kode54)
5) anything else I can't think of at this second ;D.

Site seems really fast, any optimizations done (in relation to old)?

Maybe a change like this would help reinforce the new URL?

I don't think we need to change the logo, it's not like the old one had .org at the end.

What *would* be nice though is a reworked favicon that has high-res icons for devices like tablets and high-dpi phones.

HA is mostly unchanged, though the DNS setup on .io should be better. I don't think you can notice that past the first load, though.

foobar2000, the wiki etc are on updated software.

But I really think it's just the backend server having a faster CPU and more RAM, spitting out the page faster.

i hope you're not going to upgrade IPB on the forums. from what i've seen on another site, i'm not a fan.

No concrete plans for this. The new setup makes it possible to experiment with alternatives or see how bad an upgrade would break things, though.

The problem is that there are so many different sizes.

Anyway, I got the logo from the Wiki and pulled it trough http://realfavicongenerator.net, great stuff, really. The following should be added to the <head> section of the pages.

Code: [Select]
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="57x57" href="/apple-touch-icon-57x57.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="114x114" href="/apple-touch-icon-114x114.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="72x72" href="/apple-touch-icon-72x72.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="144x144" href="/apple-touch-icon-144x144.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="60x60" href="/apple-touch-icon-60x60.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="120x120" href="/apple-touch-icon-120x120.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="76x76" href="/apple-touch-icon-76x76.png">
<link rel="apple-touch-icon" sizes="152x152" href="/apple-touch-icon-152x152.png">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon-196x196.png" sizes="196x196">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon-160x160.png" sizes="160x160">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon-96x96.png" sizes="96x96">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon-16x16.png" sizes="16x16">
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon-32x32.png" sizes="32x32">
<meta name="msapplication-TileColor" content="#da532c">
<meta name="msapplication-TileImage" content="/mstile-144x144.png">

Plus the zip with all the files: http://www.audiograaf.nl/misc_stuff/hydrog...io-favicons.zip All except the favicon.ico file are usable (because of alpha channel-constraints on .ico files) You might want to consider using the PNG version with transparancy instead of the white background that is used now.
Music: sounds arranged such that they construct feelings.

Successfully changed my Firefox bookmark to hydrogenaud.io, but I lost my favicon. Clearing the cache didn't help.

That's because the site (and favicon) are at www.hydrogenaud.io. I will probably rework things to be at just hydrogenaud.io, but that hasn't happened yet.

You can just use mod_rewrite to make sure anyone that hits hydrogenaud.io/* ends up at www.hydrogenaud.io/*, I guess it depends what you want to do as you can probably do it the other way around as well

does anyone still have the ha logo ^ in some vectorial format, perhaps its time to play around with svg version?

Yep: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Hydrogenaudio

Svg embed with png fallback (for testing and commenting);
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7953236...dio/ha_logo.htm

Seems to be working fine with:
- Linux Chrome, Opera, Midori, Firefox, Qupzilla (all show svg).
- OSX Safari 7.0.3 (svg)
- On my Android phone
Reported to show png with ie11/windows.

Seems to break with:
- ie8 running in wine (no image is displayed at all). edit: First ie that seems to work is ie9.

p.s. Logo was cleaned-up from ai version.

ok, if there is no comments, perhaps one admin could make this happen?
The code is simply;
Code: [Select]
<img src="ha_vec_outline.svg" onerror="this.src=ha_vec_outline.png">

And the files are;

I have updated all the links to *hydrogenaudio.org I could find on en.wikipedia.org although there may be bad links on other language versions of Wikipedia.

It was essentially a search for hydrogenaudio.org and replacing all instances with hydrogenaud.io (except where it's just the publisher name in a citation, where I changed it to hydrogenaudio and dropped the .org)

Well done for migrating all the hosted resources well in advance of hydrogenaudio.org closing.

We transfered the hydrogenaudio.org DNS, and that's still propgating. That said, both old and new server are pointing to the right IPs, so I'm a bit surprised it's not working for you.

The good news is that hydrogenaudio.org links will keep working for the forseeable future as we now control the domain again.
