Echo Indigo laptop soundcard with Sennheiser HD497

The sound is 100 times better with this card than the built in crap. I used it with the Sennheiser HD 497s, which came today an hour before it, which also rule.

You install the stuff, turn the computer off, put the card in, turn it back on, then once it starts up, it won't work immediately, Windows XP will see new hardware, hit you'll install it despite the fact the driver isn't signed by M$, hit install it from the software recommended, and it installs it, the light goes on, and it works.

Well, it is about time you reported in!   

One quick question.  The Indigo card will need to share space with a WiFi card I have installed.  I have two card slots, and from the pictures it looks like the Indigo can go on top (with access to the volume), but it is thin enough on bottom so that it wouldn't interfere with the WiFi card below it.  Am I correct on that?

Yes. You can fit a card on the bottom slot if you put the indigo in the top one. It protrudes about half an inch out.

Yes, it does support ASIO.

Wait until the 497's burn in. The set up will be even better.

What do you mean by burn in? Do I have to do something to them, or do I just use them a lot and then they work better? Cool!

Buring in = just using them.  Over time any initial stridency or harshness wil usually go away. Enjoy.

It means that you should put them into the microwave oven for periods of 15 minutes combined with another 15 minutes at the fridge

Now, seriously, I don't think headphones or speakers burn in, or need use to sound better.
