CUETools displaying characters incorrectly? help

Hi, I've been having some problems when it comes to tagging my FLAC rips. When I'm in the ''Select the best match'' section, some characters display wrong in the title tracks. Like ( ' ) or ( & ).


It displays & instead of amp, and ' instead of ' ... It happens with both sources Discogs and MusicBrainz. For example:




The track is called ''Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find''
. It seems that everything that include symbols change to that weird thing...and it also happen with the Album, and Artist tags, for example: JAY Z & Kanye West instead of JAY Z & Kanye West


I'm tired to change it manually since it's gonna stay like that everytime I rip again through the .cue files. The metadata has those wrong symbols.

How I can fix this problem? Thanks

I noticed that too, but only recently. I assumed it's just a broken entry though. Maybe there was a change in the API and it's not being parsed correctly by CUETools anymore?

Thanks, i will look into it. Probably the result of CTDB web-server upgrade couple of days ago.

Thank you guys, I thought it only happened to me. I also wanna say that CueTools has been so elemental for me, since I like my stuff tagged, looking pretty and all. Lol

Does not appear to be fixed yet. Just tested several CDs and still happening here. Some metadata OK, others not (this includes freeDB).
This may take some time to clear up.

Not fixed here either. I still have stuff like &lt; &gt; instead of < > in tags.

I believe i fixed it. For some reason the new version of php XML_Serializer that got installed with updates to CTDB web server was double-escaping the XML special characters, so i had to set XML_SERIALIZER_OPTION_ENTITIES to XML_SERIALIZER_ENTITIES_NONE. Wierd.

Thank you.  But now I don't see any MusicBrainz or Discogs metadata when I want to select tags. Why is the case?

OK I replicated your problem. Some records not showing when using the 'Extensive' Metadata search. Try setting the Metadata search to 'Default' to see if you get anything.

Frankie & The Heartstrings - Hunger shows no results with 'Extensive' Metadata search. Shows 1 MusicBrainz result at 'Default'.

'Extensive' Metadata search working again and not seeing the XML errors in the database now.

Yeah, should be working now. Sorry. Didn't expect the system update to have such non-obvious consequences.
