Best Firefox Extensions

I have my favorites:
  • Flashblok -- prevents those flash animations to ever start downloading
  • Tab Mix Plus -- Extreme control over tabs
  • FlashGot -- for integration with GetRight
  • FasterFox -- accelerates Firefox mighty good.

What are yours?

Tab Clicking Options
Tabbrowser Preferences
Mozilla Archive Format
Resize Search Box
Disable Targets For Downloads

DownThemAll!

SearchPluginHacks has been useful (to remove unwanted search plugins) and Session Manager  can be useful, but also annoying at times.

FoxyTunes. Gives you a set of controls for your audio player of choice in a small, relocateable bar.

besides the ones already mentioned:

CookieCuller
Quick Java
AdBlock Plus
--alt-presets are there for a reason! These other switches DO NOT work better than it, trust me on this.
LAME + Joint Stereo doesn't destroy 'Stereo'

Does anyone know if there's an extension that will block favicons, or at the least remove them from the bookmarks file without having to resort to manually editing it?

Use the Favicon Picker extension, then use that to clear the icon. Right-click the Bookmark, Properties, Erase.

It works like a charm, and is now one of my favourite extensions as well.

All-In-One-Gestures

Compact Menu

Menu-Editor

Adblock Plus

Autocopy

ReloadEvery

Download-Statusbar

_____________________

All in all, this gets firefox down to as minimal as:  Titlebar, Menu-Button, URL-Editbox, Displayarea, Statusbar incl. adblock-icon

No menus, except a minimal contextmenu. Only one toolbar-button. Everything else is done via mouse (incl. opening/closing) sidebar.

I am even thinking about auto-hiding the statusbar as well - but last time i tried it, it resultet in display-glitches when scrolling.
