Request: Selection Information in the Status Bar

I know there is an information panel, but it's a panel and takes a lot of space.

Please add selection information to the right side of the Status Bar.

Things like how many tracks are selected.

you're probably using columns UI with the status pane enabled? not everyone wants switch user interface just for that.
