Quality Testing Question

Hello,

I am new to the forum and looking for some guidance / advice on how to produce a test audio, and how to validate its integrity?

Basically, I work for a company that is doing some AV work (capture and record); and we need to validate that audvice is dio is being captured / recorded / replayed
at the same format / bitrate as the original source.

The options we have are :

    - Mono / Stereo
    - Format - PCM (22/44/48 kHz); MP3 (22/44/48 kHz); ACC (16/22/44/48 kHz)
    - Bitrate - 64/96/112/160/320 kbps

The question is two fold :

    1) Any recommendations on how to build audio files to use as source to the above parameters?
(ie. we need to make one file for each of the possible combinations)

    2) Any recommendations on how to check the audio recording (after it goes through the capture / recording device) to ensure the
captured audio is still in the same format / bitrate?

A final point, as we are a start-up with limited budget, open source tools are preferred.

  Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Dan.
